About Focus to Infinity
My name is Philip Weller. I am 37 years old, a husband, and father of three. I take photographs for fun, but I take them seriously. You'll find some of them on this site. I also run a portrait photography business, Lamplighter Photography, serving the greater Houston, Texas area. I've been taking pictures since around age 12 when my sister gave me my first camera, a Kodak Disc 4000. About a year later, my father bought me my first SLR, a Pentax Program Plus. I thank them both.
There are many reasons I love photography. If you asked me to pick just one I wouldn't be able to, so here are two.
- Photography is equal parts Art and Science.
- Photography lets me show someone something in a way that they might not have seen it before.
My dreams currently outstrip my equipment, but I'm always learning about extracting the best from what I do have:
Cameras
- Nikon D90
- Nikon D40x
- Nikon N75 (I find shooting film beneficial because it exercises a different part of my brain.)
- Canon SD770 IS (A point & shoot that goes in my pocket when an SLR can't go with me.)
Lenses

- AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm ƒ/4-5.6G IF-ED

- AF Nikkor 85mm ƒ/1.8D
- AF Nikkor 70-300mm ƒ/4-5.6D ED
